Next Level Racing is once again overjoyed to announce another partnership with Portuguese Rally Driver Ricardo Costa Jr.
“My passion for motorsports came through my uncle (and godfather), when he was fighting for the win of the Portuguese Karting national title. I was just five and that year he offered me my first kart!
In 2009, I was motivated to do more and I stepped up for Evolução B and it was a year of many positive achievements and podiums in the most competitive class at that time! The following year, 2010, those classes ended and came the new FIA Classes with the X30 engines and I was competing with a Junior engine. That was one of the best karting years of my careers where I finished second overall and second on the Masters Kart Cup.
2012 was the year it all changed for me!
At the age of 17 I was driving a Rallycross car without even having a driving license! I became national champion, winning 3 out of 4 events I participated and the whole championship was made of 8 races!
2014 was my first year in Rallying, which is the sport I love the most right now!
The first years in rallying are always very complicated because It requires a lot of training, acquisition of new techniques and above all: Listening to the guy sitting next to you! In 2016 the opportunity of a lifetime came and I did not hesitate: I got to drive a 206 S1600, and participating in the Portuguese Northern Rally championship, with which I came 3rd Overall! We had a few mechanical failures; otherwise we wouldn’t have won just 4 events!
2017 Season is already underway in the Portuguese Northern Rally Championship and again with the S1600!
The aim this year is the Overall Title. We are currently sitting 4th after being 2nd in the opening round and missing the second one!”
