Thailand’s star sim racer and Next Level Racing Ambassador, Nathayos Sirigaya, has taken victory in the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia Finals, beating the best Asian drivers on GT Sport. Because of this stellar effort, Sirigaya has earned a spot in the Toyota GR GT Cup World Finals, where the best GT Sport drivers around the world will compete for the title honors on the 5th of December.

Next Level Racing sat down with Nathayos for a chat about his recent accomplishments as well as his aim for the World Finals, and to gain an inside perspective on competing at a global level.

Congratulations on being Toyota GR GT Cup Asia Champion! How does it feel being on top in Asia?
Nathayos Sirigaya – It feels unreal to win the Toyota GR Asia Finals, after such intense competition throughout. Although I must admit this is just the start, because the level competition at the World Finals will be a lot higher with the best drivers in the world in the closing stages of the Toyota GR GT Cup!

How tough was the competition, and how did you prepare for this race?
Nathayos Sirigaya – In the weeks building up to the Asia Finals, there was indeed a lot of preparation with the other Thai drivers, who were also competing in the TGR regional finals. As representatives of Team Thailand, we are always on the lookout for each other’s errors, and as a team we helped each other to progress further than we thought was possible!

How does it feel to be one of the best GT Sport drivers in the world, and to compete against the best?
Nathayos Sirigaya – It feels amazing to be among the finalists that made it to the very last round of the Toyota GR GT Cup. Competing against the best drivers presents the unique and extremely valuable opportunity to gain experience each time. I am looking to push myself further in every race that I enter, and to gain more knowledge about the best drivers.

What are your expectations going into the Toyota GR GT Cup World Finals in December?
Nathayos Sirigaya – I have not set any expectations yet, as it is too early to tell with the level of competition expected at the World Finals. But my only wish is to do as well as i can without any regrets, and it is a privilege to race at this level for my country!
